Choosing the Right Doors Traditional timber doors tend to warp and rot over time; plus they need a considerable amount of maintenance. The first alternative is a PVC-U door; these have the advantage of being easy to operate, stylish and virtually maintenance free. They are highly secure with strong multi-point locks and superb thermal properties make them highly energy efficient. The other alternative is a composite door; these share the benefits of a PVC-U door and also offer a range of colours and superb woodgrain finishes. Constructed from a laminated ply frame with an insulating foam core and PVC-U facing they are weather resistant, rigid, secure and very stylish. Woodgrain – finishes including light oak and rosewood combine the look of wood with all the practical benefits of PVC-U. More importantly advanced new woodgrain foiling processes mean that the wood finish won't bubble or peel in extreme temperatures. Pre-painted - with composite doors there's the choice of a range of colours that replicate the look of a painted door - without the need to repaint every year. Internally Maintenance Free - combine wooden exteriors with white inside on your doors – and you won't even need to paint inside. Hardware - there's a vast range of handles, letter plates and knockers available. Choose from brass, steel, black or white - and there's a whole range of options from modern and minimal to flamboyant curves - and even figures. |
